Employee in the Spotlight: Thomas Denoo
How did you end up at Cloud Group, and what was your first impression when entering our business center, The Cloud House?
"Through the classic route: the VDAB website, during my search for a job in the IT sector. My first impression upon entering was extremely positive. The Cloud House is anything but a standard office: it is a spacious, modern environment with an open atmosphere. The large windows reinforce that feeling enormously. The warm welcome also ensured that I felt comfortable and at ease from the very beginning."
How long have you been working at Cloud Group, and how has your journey evolved?
"I’ve been working at Cloud Group for two years now, and in that time I’ve had a very pleasant journey. From day one, I was well supported by various colleagues, and I could always turn to someone with any question. Even when a question belonged to another department - for example, Sales - there was always someone ready to help, often literally within walking distance. Once I was fully up to speed, I also noticed the trust that was placed in me. I gradually received more autonomy to take on tasks independently, which is very motivating. By now, I feel fully integrated into the team and I’m excited to continue expanding my knowledge."
What challenges have you overcome along the way?
"Staying up to date with new features and possibilities is the biggest challenge. Both the underlying technology and the projects and processes within Cloud Group evolve constantly. Improvements or new features are introduced regularly. Something that wasn’t possible last week may suddenly be an option today-and in rare cases, the opposite can occur when certain functionalities become outdated. That continuous evolution makes the job very engaging."
How would you describe the departmental and organizational culture?
"Very open and collegial. It may sound cliché, but everyone really puts their best foot forward and helps colleagues do the same. There is an atmosphere where you feel comfortable asking questions and where making mistakes is allowed. It feels like an environment in which everyone genuinely wants to move forward together and supports each other in doing so."
How would you rate the collaboration between different departments?
"Excellent. Colleagues from other departments often drop by to ask something or have a quick chat. That low threshold makes collaboration very smooth and pleasant. You truly feel that everyone is part of the same team."
Great to hear, Thomas! Finally, how do you experience your work–life balance, and are there aspects in which Cloud Group supports you in maintaining a healthy balance?
"That’s very good as well. A job remains a job, of course, but it’s great that an employer actively tries to soften the boundary between work and private life and supports employees in doing so. There is a lot of trust to organize your work in a way that suits you, as long as the team and customers are well served."
